NOW HIRING CYCLING COACH FOR FALL SEASON
Cycle Coach, Team In Training, Los Angeles, CA
Greater Los Angeles Chapter
Team In Training® is a fundraising campaign that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by training
participants to successfully complete marathons, triathlons and century bike rides. We are currently looking for
energetic and organized individuals who would like to be a part of this national non-profit organization.
The position of Cycle Coach is a seasonal contracted consultant position that provides coaching services to cycle
participants of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, the world's largest endurance sports
training program.
CYCLE COACH
The Westside (Malibu through Long Beach) Cycle Team In Training team is currently hiring cycle coaches and
assistant coaches for the upcoming Fall Season. Team size varies, but generally falls between 30 – 40
participants. The event for our Fall season is Cool Breeze Century Ride in Ventura (August 15).
Duties:
- Develop weekly training schedules for participants at each level: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
- Coordinate and/or lead all team training events, including:
- Choose training courses.
- Provide clear route maps to all participants and mark the course as needed.
- Establish SAG for training rides.
- Begin each session with appropriate warm-up exercises, stretching, and announcements.
- Ensure that all participants are supported throughout each training session and finish safely.
- Provide an emergency plan at all training sessions and communicate this plan to the participants prior to the
ride.
- Recruit speakers for training clinics to be held in conjunction with monthly team meetings.
- Be available during the week, by phone or by email, to answer training-related questions.
- Attend seasonal cycling event, assisting staff, as necessary, during event weekend and ensuring all team
members finish the event safely and are accounted for at end of day.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Experience in Team In Training is preferred, but not required. EOE.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching, leadership, and/or motivational experience
Good communication skills via phone and email
Experience in Team In Training is preferred, but not required.
Completion of past century ride
CPR/First Aid Certified (or wllingness to be certified before training)
