| "The Massapequa Park Bicycle Club (MPBC), founded in 1970 and incorporated in 1974, is one of the clubs catering to the bicycle rider on Long Island, New York. With over 500 members, whose skill levels range from Open pace riders (and racers) to C pace riders (who are as much concerned about viewing the scenery while riding as they are about getting a good workout), members and prospective members can always find a weekly club ride to join and not feel out of place. MPBC welcomes all levels of riders, from beginner to advanced. The club promotes both road and mountain bike (during the winter months) rides. Club rides are scheduled for every weekend and holiday of the year, and several days and evenings during the week in the summer. There are special club-sponsored trips, tours, and other social activities." |
