Well, I see all the faithful showed - sorry, Emilio, I didn't get
your e-mail in time. . . . About 20 of us showed up and waited around
and around for the Saturn Team ( a bit concerned as they apparently
did not show last year but were there for the bar-b-q).
Len arrived but forgot his shoes, so he decided to forego the ride.
Alfred made it as did Dan Hopley and Ron Grey (I appologize if I
missed any other club members.) Another bunch from a team I think
was called the West Coast Cyclers or Cycling Team, all on Marin
bikes, showed. Everyone noted how this was to be a slow ride.
The Saturn Team never showed (not even for the food) and I never
got a real explanation. I led for the first 6 miles and then started
getting behind in the hills, finally, after Walker, I kinda eased
in the rest of the way on my own. (But two others did come in sometime
behind me.)
It was fun, but disappointing about the lack of the team (hey,
what is with Saturn - two years in a row - I hope they build their
cars better than that). The group was friendly and even waited for
me a time or two (or three).
