It's been a while since there was a moderate Geysers Ride.
Wayne Kellam lead todays jaunt up the front of the Geysers.
There were several riders who had never done this ride and many
who had not climbed from the south.
The morning started out foggy with most of us wearing jackets,
arm and leg warmers and other cold weather gear. It only took
until the first wide spot on the climb for the warm clothing to
start coming off. By half-way up the first climb, we broke
into the sunshine and it was a bit warm climbing those steeper pitches
in bright sun.
After the two long climbs, I rode with Sue and Wendy down the back-side
to Cloverdale. Except for a few gravel spots, the descent
was really fun. The faster riders - Robert, LaValle, Lou Salz
and a number of others were up ahead. Wayne, doing his "ride
leader" thing, rode near the rear to make sure everyone made
it back.
LaValle has a new digital camera and she took the shots of Sue
and Tom (yes that's me).
We were blessed with pretty good weather today, a spirited group
and no mishaps. What more can you ask for?
