The Group Assembling

This was a very interesting ride. Most of us have done Franz
Valley from the north many times, but very few have done it from
the south. The early morning traffic on Mark West Springs
Road was not too bad and the first big hurdle, The Franz Valley
climb, was really enjoyable.
Richard Winegarner decide to stay behind on the climb to wait for
a rider who was supposed to be coming along (the rider turned around
and went back) but Richard kept his side of the bargain and climbed
slowly. We regrouped at the top and sped down towards Hwy
128.
The trip on 128 to Chalk Hill is pretty much downhill and we paced-lined,
thanks to Roberts pulls, at about 20 MPH. Great fun!
Chalk Hill had little traffic and we cruised back to San Miguel
School with no problems. Everyone thought Franz Valley was
much better from this direction.
We had Oscar, Wayne, Robert, Mike, Richard, Janet and Tom.
Thanks Wayne for leading us.
Wayne has a good story about his Pine Flat ride last weekend and
a visit from an unexpected mountain lion. He is going to pass
it along to all of us soon..............
